Hogans Creek Watershed Project

Project Goals:

AP Environmental Science students at Darnell-Cookman conducted a project at Hogans Creek during the spring 2020 semester.  Our goal was to better understand how human activities along the Hogans Creek watershed have impacted the water quality.

Specifically, our goals were:
  • To better understand the characteristics of the Hogans Creek watershed
  • To research some potential human impacts on the Hogans Creek watershed
  • To monitor levels of:
    • Coliform bacteria
    • NItrates
    • Nitrites
  • To propose some possible realistic solutions which could mitigate the human impact on the Hogans Creek watershed.
